It has a comforting toasty flavour that is sure to charm in a wide variety of uses. This powder is made completely from roasted tea, allowing the flavour of the ingredients to really shine.
Hojicha Latte
4g Hojicha Powder
60ml Hot Water
160ml Creamy Milk (full fat milk or creamy plant based milk)
- Make a Tea Base: In a small bowl, combine the tea powder with hot water (60°C/140°F) and whisk with a chasen (bamboo whisk) until smooth.
- Prepare the Glass: Fill a glass with ice cubes and milk.
- Layer the Latte: Gently pour the tea mixture from Step 1 over the edge of an ice cube so it flows down slowly without directly mixing with the ice below. This helps create a beautiful layered effect.
Hojicha Hot Chocolate
4g Hojicha Powder
3g Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Few Pieces of Chocolate (optional)
60ml Water
1 tbsp Condensed Milk
200ml Creamy Milk (full fat milk or a plant based alternative)
Marshmallows
- Heat up the water in a pot. Sieve in the hojicha powder and cocoa and whisk until fully mixed.
- Add the milk and heat up while mixing. If you want to add chocolate for extra flavour and richness add it at this point. Heat until you reach your desired temperature or until chocolate is completely melted and mixed in.
- Pour into a cup and enjoy, top with marshmallows if desired!
