#0104.K6 Azuma Tea Garden: Roasted Tencha Hojicha Powder
Azuma Tea Garden's unique product, Hojicha Matcha, is made by roasting tencha tea leaves, the type of tea used to make matcha. Most Hojicha is made by using rolled green tea leaves (sencha), generally a mature, low grade rolled senchaĀ leaf which we callĀ bancha. More specifically, this HojichaĀ MatchaĀ uses the larger leaves and stems of leaves from the spring harvest that are sorted out of the main batch during refinement.
After roasting the leaves, it is processed into powder, with Azumaās jet air pulverizing machine, just like their culinary matcha.
This hojicha powder is perfect for the fans of kyobancha as this hojicha powder has similar deep, slightly tobacco like dry smoky notes.Ā
Uses 100% Wazuka (Kyoto) grown tea. No artificial coloring, preservative, or chemical additives.
